Prepare the descaling solution
The first step you have to do is to prepare the descaling solution needed for the desca
ling. In this case, you have two options: using a commercial descaling product like the one you can get from HG or using a natural descaling product. If you go with using a natural descaling product, then you can use a mixture of water and white vinegar with a 1:1 ratio in composition. However, it’s recommended to use a commercial descaling product since it’s specially made for the job, provided that you have the time to get one.

Run the descaling solution through the machine
Next, you need to run the descaling solution through the machine via its water reservoir once you have the solution ready. However, you have to ensure that your Nespresso machine is turned off and cool before starting this process. In addition, you also have to remove the water filter if your Nespresso machine has it.
Then, turn on the machine and initiate the descaling process by following the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Rinse the machine
The next step you have to do after the descaling solution has circulated through your nespresso machine is to rinse the machine. To do that, you can refill the water reservoir with clean water and run it through the machine. You have to really make sure that there’s no residue of the descaling product in your Nespresso machine, otherwise it will ruin the taste of the coffee made.
Of course, it’s because nobody wants a cup of coffee with the additional taste of a descaler.

Clean and descale additional components
Finally, you mustn’t forget to clean and descale additional components of your nespresso machine that are removable. Usually, they include the drip tray, coffee baskets, and steam wand that can be detached from your nespresso machine. Once those parts are detached, you can soak them in a solution made by mixing water and a descaling product.
Then, you can scrub them with a brush to remove residue that sticks to them due to the continuous use of the nespresso machine before rinsing and reattaching them.
